Welcome From The Pastoral Council Chairperson

Dear Parishioners.

The Catholic Community we now call Greenacres Walkerville Parish, has existed in a variety of forms since 1952.

Here, you are part of a Parish that has:

  • a strong sense of history; one that honours and celebrates those who have gone before us;
  • a commitment to those who form it today by being a source of nourishment and joy;
  • a commitment to be a community of welcome and outreach to those who are yet to come.

We are glad that you are here!

We have two Churches in our Parish and you are warmly welcome to join our community in the celebration of Mass on Saturday evening at 6.00pm in St Monica’s Church, or at 9.30am on Sunday morning in St Martin’s Church.

Our hope is that you find a Parish community that is welcoming and inclusive, one in which you feel inspired to be an active participant. We have a variety of groups and committees of which you can be part, and I encourage you to consider involving yourself. These opportunities are outlined in this website. Please make contact with me, Susanne Harding, Father Kym, or Kathryn Lawson, our Parish Secretary, or any other member of our Parish Community, if you would like to know more.

Our Parish Pastoral Councillors are committed to:

  • building a strong community based on the Catholic Tradition;
  • social justice;
  • outreach;
  • faith formation of all members;
  • providing Liturgical celebrations that allow us to know God and each other better;
  • financial stewardship and transparency;
  • addressing the needs, in the best possible manner, of ALL members of our community, regardless of age, culture or gender.

We would love to hear from you if you have any suggestions or feedback for us.
We have two Primary Schools in our Parish;  St Monica’s, Walkerville, and St Martin’s, Greenacres.  The Principals of both Schools are committed to offering a Primary Education in the Catholic Tradition to any child in our Parish whose parents request this. Please do not hesitate to make contact with either of the schools if you would like to visit, enquire about enrolment, or perhaps even volunteer in some capacity.
I pray that you will find your place in this Catholic Community and find the loving, gentle and compassionate face of God in the people you meet here.
