RECONCILIATION
The Sacrament of Reconciliation reminds us that as individuals and as a community we stand in need of God’s forgiving and healing love in all of our relationships. It supports us in restoring our relationships with God, ourselves and others. During the Sacrament of Reconciliation we are invited to acknowledge the poor choices we have made with an emphasis on the need to ‘make things right’. During the first form of the Rite of Reconciliation individuals meet with a priest to acknowledge an area of their life which is in need of change. The Sacrament of Reconciliation often precedes first Eucharist (‘Becoming Catholic’, 2014).Reconciliation is a Sacrament of Healing.
Symbols of Reconciliation include: keys, a stole, a raised hand, the cross and the scourging whip.
Reconciliation is held at:
St Monica's Church every Saturday evening between 5:30 and 5:50pm.
St Martin's Church every Sunday morning between 9:00 and 9:20am
The Sacrament of Reconciliation is also the first Sacrament received during the Sacramental Program for School Aged Children.
